Also at school today. I learned that I *might have been calling a student the wrong name all semester. AT my school, names are very much spelled phonetically. Parents 'round these parts don't bother with those stupid grammar rules; ain't nobody got time for that. When I pointed out to him the letter he was putting into his pronunciation didn't appear in actual name he replied, "Yea, my momma forgot the 'u,' but she told me about it."
Lastly, there was a teacher there today; to be fair, she's there almost everyday, but that's neither here nor there. She likes to be better than people. A lot. So today, she had on a shirt that I wanted to buy yesterday at Sam's. It was a blue Izod argyle sweater--very pretty--it's on clearance at Sam's if you have time.
Anyway, I told her, "I love that sweater--I tried to buy it yesterday at Sam's but they didn't have my size!" She explained that it couldn't possibly have come from Sam's because her sister had purchased it in Miami. (Apparently they don't have Sam's Clubs out there?) Plus, no one in her family shopped at discount stores. Ever. I think they also wipe with $100 bills.
