Micah will be happy. Mostly.

Yup, I'm still off. Until next Tuesday. I hope Micah makes it, bless his heart. Today's adventure: Yard cutting. It actually went pretty well, depending on your definition of well. BUT this time I didn't mess anything up. However, I was attacked. Actually, it was more like a hostile takeover. So, this is how I left the back yard.

Those are my shoes and socks by the shed. I had to remove them IMMEDIATELY before dying. And I couldn't take the other hand off the lawnmower because it's tough for me to start things with a pull cord...

See the line where the back looks like the grass hasn't been cut? Well, that's because it hasn't. I was literally attacked by 1.5 million angry ants. I think they are still angry over the whole roof deal. So, I handed over what probably only amounts to like 1/8 of our yard. It's a small price to pay.

Given the 7-day forecast of never ending rain, starting tonight, and the fact that I lost my beagle in the backyard this morning,  Micah should be pleased that the grass is taken care of.

It was a close call, but Sir Houston has been found! And is resting peacefully with Lady Maritime.

He probably won't like the lines in the front yard. I kind of cut anyway I want and he is kind-of, well, obsessed with detail. This attention to detail is an annoyance to me, only because he doesn't appreciate my creative side with the yard.  (I used to make crop circles with the lawnmower when we lived in the country.) He will also have to win the Battle of Ant Aggression if he wants his land back, and in the South we don't have the best track record. (Remember the War of Northern Aggression?)
