Snake Charmer

This blog was *requested* by my new friend, Karyn.  Yes, REQUESTED.  Oh, and I feel as though I should qualify her; she is not presently in jail or on drugs.  She is well-educated and gainfully employed.  (See, Dad, real people DO like my writing…)

I believe I am up to four legitimate followers; I’ll admit, I am in fact following my own blog. (BECAUSE IT’S THAT GOOD.)  However, I recently hit 500 friends on “The Facebook,” as an elderly acquaintance of mine calls it.  On the same day, my neighbor phones needing assistance.  I leave my warm shower (Everyone has phones in their bathrooms, right?), and head across the street IN THE DARK, armed with not one, but two shovels.  I decapitated the intruder that had wrapped his snaky body around her hot water heater.  Then, on an adrenaline high, I rush home to post about it on The Facebook. 

The "Cooperhead," is the lesser known but MUCH more poisonous cousin of the well known Copperhead.

My status of "Best Neighbor Ever" was short-lived.  I feel like I should explain the situation, first...  We have an awesome creek behind the house.   My daughter likes to occasionally get in said creek.  Sometimes, the neighbor's kids get in with her.  Unfortunately, they aren't supposed to.  WITHOUT FAIL, as soon as I turn my back, the little one is in and the older one has already summonsed their mother.  I am not sure how this ALWAYS happens, and so quickly! (telepathy?)  At any rate, the mother comes to retrieve the now completely drenched child and just kind of shakes her head...  I could almost hear her say, "Well bless your heart..."  (Note: As true southerners know, this is NOT a compliment.)  I wanted to protest... or to tell her it was the kid's fault (it was; HE started it!)


But, I'm distracted by The Facebook.  It has completely changed my profile.  It MUST be a personal attack against me -- I can't find anything. Where is my 500 + friends counter?!


 Be careful FB, I have killed for way less than this.
